Hoosier Farms Event Center

Project Summary

Traditional round barns hold a special place in Indiana’s agricultural history, standing as proud symbols of a bygone era. These unique structures emerged during a time of transition in farming practices, designed to maximize efficiency and innovation. However, as agricultural technology advanced, the round barn’s popularity waned, and their construction ceased. Today, only about 100 of these architectural relics remain, scattered across Indiana’s countryside, contributing to its charm and serving as reminders of the ingenuity of past generations.

Tabberson Architects has breathed new life into this historic concept with the design of the Hoosier Farms Event Center, a modern, full-scale round barn reimagined as a multi-use event space. This innovative project celebrates the heritage of Indiana’s round barns while adapting the design for contemporary use. The Hoosier Farms Event Center not only honors Indiana’s rural roots but also provides a gathering place where history and community come together, proving that timeless architecture can find new purpose in today’s world.
